Purleigh Old People's Home Association

The POPHA Home was opened in September 1979 following 10 years of dedicated work by local people.

The Home is under the umbrella of the Housing Corporation and is managed by a voluntary of local people.

There are 12 flats for rent: 11 single bedroom flats and 1 two bedroom flat. The flats are for the elderly parishioners of Purleigh and for elderly people who have relatives in the parish and who wish to move to be closer to them.

The Home is situated in the heart of the village on Church Hill in easy reach of the local Post Office and stores. There is a bus service to Maldon and also to Chelmsford.

The Home offers a quiet rural retreat for those who wish to maintain their independence or who can cope with help from their relatives. All tenants are offered Care Alarms provided by the Home.
