PURLEIGH PLAYING FIELD ASSOCIATION
MINUTES OF THE PPFA MEETING HELD ON THURSDAY 24th. JUNE 2010 IN THE PLAYING FIELD PAVILION
PARISH COUNCIL NEWS We have received a letter from the Parish Council inviting us to publish any information on the community website www.purleigh.com It was agreed we can offer our PPFA minutes and any significant dates eg the coffee mornings for the website.REPORT ON PAVILION AND FACILITIES Nothing new to report. REPORTS FROM PLAYING FIELD USERS CRICKET CLUB (MICK) Currently both teams are third in their respective leagues and the season is going well. An end of season dinner at Seabright’s barn is proposed for October. FOOTBALL CLUB No report. CROQUET (VANESSA) Two matches against Enfield were played and lost, although one only narrowly. CURRENT & FUTURE EVENTS Coffee Mornings. The Coffee mornings are continuing to run successfully. 17 attended the June meeting. Our thanks again go to Vanessa and Sarah for their efforts. Hopefully at least one other of our members will be able to support Vanessa next month and we will continue to be grateful to the kind folk who donate cakes etc. Horse Race Night. The general consensus was that one Race Night per year is preferred and that Spring is the best timing. Social event. It was agreed that we try out a table tennis evening among ourselves on Thursday 15th. July from 8:00pm. (The same night as the Coffee Morning). Bernard will try to track down the ex-youth club kit. DISCUSSION ON PROVIDING GRANT SUPPORT FOR LOCAL GROUPS AND ACTIVITIES
Any Other Business The topic of an instant water heater for tea/coffee was raised again as a means of saving electricity and improving health and safety for users. Mick agreed to ask Karen to identify a potential manufacturer and model. There was no other business raised. Date of next meeting. The next meeting will be held on July 22nd. in the Pavilion.
